At a distance of only 7 km from Panjim, Dona Paula Beach is easily accessible. Meeting point of the Zuari and Mandovi rivers this beach presents a secluded sight for tourists to spend a few tranquil moments. Its shimmering sand has been adorned with stretches of lush green palm trees creates a picturesque view.
This beach is also popular with the name of Lovers Paradise. There are many legends associated with this name. One of the popular legends is that Dona Paula de Menzes, daughter of one of the India’s viceroy had jumped off the cliff when she was not allowed to marry a local fisherman. There are many other legends as well which offer a different story of the place and the name.
One of the popular attractions is the Cabo Raj Bhavan which is the official residence of the Governor of Goa. The National Oceanography Institute is another place worth visiting. Its Marine Biology Museum and Taxonomy Reference Center are the major attractions. The Statues of philosopher Robert Knox and his wife, which were made by a Dutch sculptress, Baroness Yrse Von Leistner also add on to the overall charm of this place.

Some of these are Kayaking, motorboat riding, windsurfing, para sailing, water-skiing, toboggan ski-biscuit, yachting, skibob, sports fishing, snorkeling and harpoon fishing.
