At a distance of 10 kms from Mapusa lies one of the most vibrant beaches of Goa – The Chapora Beach. This beach mesmerizes you with its beauty. Black Magma rocks, lush greenery of coconut trees and the shine of white sand together attracts tourists from everywhere. This beach enjoys proximity with other popular beaches as well such as Anjuna beach and Vagator beach. From this beach, one can see the rocky cliff of Vagator Beach.
Once at the beach, not just serene surroundings, you will also have a wide variety of activities to keep yourself engaged. A an interesting range of watersports such as paragliding, parasailing, surfing, etc. can be done here at the beach. As the undercurrents are quite strong here at this beach, it is better to avoid swimming here.
Chapora beach run along the Chapora Fort. It is a 500 year old Fort built in the Portuguese style of architecture. It is one of the popular attractions of Goa where people visit to get a glimpse of the bygone era. Vagator Springs are also located nearby. Both the springs are situated at the foothills of north Vagator Beach and at Orzant and thus can be visited easily. And if interested, you can also plan a visit to the Chapora village. This fishing village offers its visitors with a break from the chaos of cities.
Apart from the beach shacks, you will also find luxury hotels and resorts near to the beach. The Sterling Vagator Beach Resort is one such accommodation option, located quite close to the beach. It is only 24 km away from Panaji which is the capital of Goa so reaching this beach is not at all difficult to reach here as you can easily get taxis as well as bikes on rent.
